I hate it when I’m actually doing something AS A FAVOR to one of the staff, and my phone rings, and they’re standing beside it and can’t even go “Please hold”, instead they just watch me struggle to make it there in time to answer.

Hello again, this is the rabbit that had the new coworker problem.
This week, my boss has realized that she has put off creating the registration page for an event that we are hosting in a couple months.
Normally, she has this one lady do it, and she’s been doing it for years.
But for some reason this year, my boss is hellbent on getting things done as quickly as possible, without stopping to see how many minute but important details are being missed.
What’s worse, is that the lady who normally does it is on vacation, and she’s kind of the only one who knows how to maintain such a thing.
But instead of having some patience or making phone calls, my boss has pushed the whole thing onto me. I have no experience with this, and she has no idea what she’s doing either, all she cares about is getting it done.
Lovely.
Not only that, because I’m the young one in the office, she’s asked me to make it ‘modern’ and ‘urban’
I really don’t see the point, considering most of our clientele was born before 1976.
TOP: New coworker gets hired.
BOTTOM: Thinks receptionist means ‘personal secretary’
We just had a new lady hired, and I honestly hate her. She was okay at first, you know that new person ordeal.
But she’s been here for a little while now and frankly gets under my skin like no other.
First of all, she thinks that the work she doesn’t want to do is what I’m supposed to do. One, my job description does not cover others laziness. Two, I am not qualified nor trained to do her specific job. She handles the clients personal and confidential information. I just answer the phone, occasionally open the mail, and do some light filing.
I know it sounds likes a bratty thing but when someone else is trying to get you to do the job they were hired and paid to do, it’s very aggravating.
She also likes to use the office phone for very long personal calls. If anything, we’re allotted 3 minutes. I wish she would break down and get a cell phone, and also stop ‘forgetting’ to inform us that her family is gonna come in and visit for long periods of time while her clients are waiting on the lines for her.
Honestly, this would all be more forgiving if she didn’t talk to me in a condescending, patronizing way.
“Oh, can you fill out this clients form for me? I’m just soooo busy. Thanks, you’re awesome. *goes back to desk and talks to coworker about church and Jesus Christ for 45 minutes, while not working.*”
Ugh.
